As a REALTOR® and a member of MEIAR you have an opportunity and responsibility to serve the Association, Community, and enhance your career by volunteering. Being a volunteer allows you to meet new colleagues, interact with MEIAR staff, learn / change MEIAR procedures, and be key in directing MEIAR’s future.
The MLS Committee members create policy, review and enforce rules and regulations, make recommendations to IRMLS for changes to help our members with their success in the Real Estate Industry. This committee oversees the lockbox system.
Plan social events in which REALTORS® and affiliate members can interact away from their business environment. (golf outing, holiday party, bowling tournament, etc). Create and implement fundraisers to collect donations that upgrade the quality of life for charities and show that REALTORS® care about our community.
Engage our membership in community service to enhance the REALTOR® image and to increase giving back to those in our greater communities. In hopes this will deliver value to members through information, advocacy and service within all the counties covered by MEIAR.
Stay informed on legislative topics relative to the real estate industry locally. Research local candidates to support. Interview candidates to familiarize MEIAR to candidate’s track record and opinions concerning home ownership, rental ownership, economic development, and all other real estate related items.
Implement and monitor the Voluntary Affirmative Marketing Agreement pertaining to advertising and using the Equal Opportunity Logo. Inform and educate members to promote equal housing opportunities.
Distributing press releases, writing articles for a positive impact and creating more value for our members. Speaking with the press about market conditions on behalf of MEIAR. Help promote the use of a REALTOR® who follows the NAR Code of Ethics.
Will be focused on diversity within our organization and community. Educating members about the importance of diversity and how diverse communities are essential moving forward in today’s society.
Oversees gaming activities at all MEIAR events and reports event summaries to the Indiana Gaming Commission. Not all members need to attend every event, we need a group of members to choose from.
